Bought the transported outer stiff drive to back up my aperture photo library on my mac pro. The reason i wanted a transported hdd was to keep a back up of my photo library off-site before doing a back up once a week.mounting to a mac running os x 10.5.8 (leopard) was no problem and theo- drive was immediately detected and shown as toshiba. The box states Toshiba HDDR640E04XR compatible with os x 10.4 and windows xp/vista and will presumably work with a windows 7 and a linux os. The usb 2.0 interface is fast and theo- drive itself does not require outer ability as it comes from theo- usb interface. The usb 2.0 cable is included with the hdd, although its short. When accessing theo- drive for read/write there is a blue led which indicates activity. The polite thing is that the drive doesn’t seem to stimulate hot and aesthetically is quite appealing in its blue color. Fit and finish is superb as well.
